He Proves That He is Faithful

My Church in Conway, AR has been participating in the "Year of the Bible" and boy is it full of stories and meaning behind the true love of God. But I will also say, it has been a doozy trying to keep up with the 'Old Law' and also.. The Old Testament. However, one of the stories that stuck out to me the most in the past two months is the story of Abraham and Sarah. If you haven't heard of this story, let me give you some background knowledge. Abraham and Sarah are... ridiculously old. Like 90 and 100 years of age. The funny thing is, is that God promised to make Abraham the 'Father of Nations', but at this time he had no children. God then wanted to remind Sarah of the promise that she gave to both of them.

He told Sarah that she would become pregnant and that she would give birth to the Son of Nations. Sarah seriously LAUGHS at God. I know what you are thinking.. "why would someone laugh at God?" But haven't we all laughed at God? When He tells us that we are beautiful or we are enough, sometimes we don't accept or believe in the truth that He tells us. In Genesis 18:14, God asked Abraham why Sarah just laughed at Him. I'm thinking... oh shoot, this is about to get real. God says to Sarah, "Is there anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you next year and you will have a son." GOODNESS. It did get real.

Sometimes we think to ourselves, "can Jesus really come through with this one, or has He forgotten about me?" The thing is, the Lord has not forgotten about you. When we need Him to come near, all we have to do is draw near to Him and He will prove His faithfulness. I know some of you are feeling that God has actually given up on you. But that is not the case at all, my friend. He wants to give you abundantly more than you already have and He wants to show you how great He truly is, just be honest with Him and tell Him what is on your mind. Be faithful to Him and He will most definitely show up.

I have recently doubted The Lord. I have doubted that He would provide; that He would fulfill his promises. But the moment I let go, and let God (such an over-used phase, I know) He goes all out. He will use other people in my life to confirm the things that he has told me and has given me all the necessities I need to prove He is outstanding. My friend, if only you trust in him and remember that he is faithful- He will pour out all of his blessings. And the amazing thing is, He wants to give you those things. He is a good, good Father.
